It might be cool to have a bunch of food courts in the area if they can get some local food vendors. Show visiting tourists the food of Calgary while they visit for Stampede.

If the renovation is done well i can see the retail being really successful. There is a lot of employment, residents and it is right by Central Memorial Park, with fairly high pedestrian and bike traffic close by.I sure hope they find the right retail to attract customers. There are already dozens of empty store fronts on 10th, 11th and 12 Ave SW. New residential buildings such as SODO, 6th & 10th, Park Central, Underwood have added more to the mix. Hard to be optimistic about the future of retail and hospitality in the core.
I walked by there last week. It was long way from being finished and it did not look to me like any work was going on. I wonder how successful they were attracting tenants pre-COVID? Now it would be real challenge.Any update on the status of that new food hall in Union Square?
Very minimal work being done, don't think anything happened during the Covid lockdown. If I had to guess I'd say their leasing has been flat so there's no rush, hope I'm wrong though.Any update on the status of that new food hall in Union Square?
