My understanding is ‘regular’ hotels must meet feature lists. For 4 star a pool is required - an expensive, somewhat difficult to accommodate, not entirely high use item. For 5 star, a motor court is needed, hence the Palliser not trying for those heights.

Among other things, like longer hours room service.

I will die if it’s Stampigarbage. At least CMLC is involved in this one so there is hope.
 
I have little faith when the Stampede board is involved. Though I guess the design of the BMO expansion is a departure.

I guess we'll see, but so far the last three Stampede ground developments (BMO, SAM Centre, and Opera) have gone with a modern look. Gives me hope :)
