Article: Ryerson's Student Learning Centre Announced

The Yonge Street frontage is horrible. To make matters worse, according to local councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, the retail stores are buried in the basement. Instead, there will be an entrance & a set of stairs facing the Yonge Street side that will lead you downstairs.

Article: The Spadina Subway Extension: Vaughan Centre Station

It will take 30 - 35 years for the density of VMC to match that of North York City Centre. Heck, it took that same amount of time for NCC to develop after the construction of the North York Civic Centre. Meanwhile, inner Toronto ends up subsidizing the operating cost of maintaining this line...

Article: Podium Revealed At Cityzen and Fernbrook Homes' Absolute World Condos

That stretch of Hurontario St. is so wide (10 lanes including a median), it would be rather difficult to create "a sense of place" for the retail & cafes at the podium as that rendering would suggest. Mississauga Toronto | Absolute World | 169.77m | 56s | Cityzen | MAD architects

Sorry if I missed the replies, but did anybody figure out what the "ribbing" is for underneath the floor slabs? Is it for cladding or something else?

    Toronto Toronto | Scarborough Civic Centre Library | ?m | 1s | TPL | LGA Architectural

I agree. The size of the proposed library is too small for the neighbourhood. The city centre deservedly needs a "district sized" library at the very least. Just to let eveyone know...there's another public consultation meeting scheduled for Thursday June 17, 2010 7:00 PM Scarborough Civic...
