Chow just got killed in a presser Greg Banks where are you?

Wow all three frontrunners have shot themselves in the foot, eh...R Ford just being R Ford, Chow and Tory blowing it on the transit issue, both having dark presences who they seemingly are backing away from...weak, weak campaigns

I would think today there are a large number of voters taking a harder at what Soknacki is offering and you know what they are going find a more well rounded palatable policy platform than any of the three frontrunners as well as Stintz....

Agreed. It's looking this is the best Toronto can put forward then we have a problem.

The camping team leaders are all horrible and Chow should have said she would talk to Kinsella and diffused the situation. Instead, she keeps calling him a volunteer and won't speak to him. Soknacki needs to start polling better because Chow just keeps screwing up.

It's probably not enough to sink her campaign, but she doesn't seem interested in being in control of it, or of Kinsella. He comes across as a loose cannon and not concerned that statements like this could be perceived as sabotaging the campaign.

Soknacki's campaign has been assiduous in its tactics, in no small part to the very smart person behind it, Soknacki himself. He has gone the route of being in large(r) part a social media campaign, with catchy PDFs and tweets that end up being shared or retweeted, giving the campaign free publicity. This is canny as it allows him to compete on the same level as everyone else, regardless the size of the relative campaign. However, if a sound and comprehensive ground game isn't also there, you are inevitably going to come up short. You need to know who and where your vote is, how likely they are to vote for you, how likely they are to vote at all, and being able to nag them incessantly until they do vote. And since in city elections there are no parties, name recognition is key. If Soknacki had stuck around in City Hall as a councillor, then he would have more of a shot. But most people either simply don't know who he is, and aren't overwhelmingly won over by him if they do know who he is. If Soknacki had chosen to train his guns on GDB's seat (and wouldn't that be a nice little tussle to watch), then I would think he'd actually have a better shot at influencing stuff next term. As it is, he's going to be soberly reminding everyone of what needs doing, then poof, he's likely gone after election day, back to his world of cinnamon and coriander, and with no tangible sign of his ever being there.

I am going to make a somewhat bold prediction: Soknacki's numbers are going to be in about the same place this time next month as they are now.

On another non-serious subject entirely: hasn't anyone told Sarah Thomson's volunteers that bad things happen to red shirts? Or would they be too young to get the reference?
