The Canada Trust building at 110 Yonge is another example of how something of charm can be lost by "filling in" an overhang.

that's looks like a kind of hidden gem of a neighbourhood. reminds me of old scarborough--guildwood parkway, poplar road, greyabbey trail etc...

In the very middle of both pictures there are a pair of trees abutting each other; I wonder if they are the same pair?

I would say yes, they are the same trees.

I love this street - only partially stucco-monsterized - but I wonder what it would be like to live in perpetual shade?

Well, cooler than without it in the summer months. And maybe the back gardens are more open to the sky, as they generally are?

Ha! I thought it looked like the Greenland area of Don Mills.

Trees good...

Deepwood Crescent

As beautiful a neighbourhood as it is, I'm always struck by the lack of sidewalks.

Granted, the car was the be-all mindset back then, but it just is not good fundamental urban planning to completely ignore the pedestrian aspect. How is it in winter with the street further constricted due to snow banks and slush puddles?
