I don't see it. As a campaign strategist, his reputation hinges on having the candidate he is publicly working for win. Plus, if credible rumours circulated that he tanked his own client's campaign in order to get a rival into office, he'd be finished. No one would trust him. His ruthlessness would have no value for future clients.

Agreed. A mercenary doesn't need to be loyal, just loyal to their -current- employer. I think FoFam has been running mostly on incredible luck, base instinct and bullying momentum and no one should doubt their capacity for viciousness. But I don't quite see them as the machiavellian master strategist. They've been incredibly lucky and instinctual to so far, we'll see how far that carries them to october.
