Citing “very good sources” that he didn’t reveal, Ford said he’s heard the casino could lead to an NFL stadium being built on the massive Etobicoke property in his ward.

“If they’re going to have an NFL team here, Woodbine is a site that they’d consider building an 80,000-seat stadium, which you’d need to have an NFL team,” he said.

God help us all if that happens, because you can be damn sure Robbie would take full credit for it. And lots of voters would believe him.

Maybe that would have been a big tourist draw in 1925, but do Ferris Wheels bring people "from miles around" ?

Next election Rob and Doug will be telling us how Staten Island's Ferris Wheel is a huge success and we foolish people missed out on our oppportunity to have a World-Class (TM) ferris wheel.

Well, to potentially give the devil his due, when I was in London in 2003, I was told by one of the British Airways folk that they made more outright profit running the London Eye than they did with all their worldwide flight operations.

Not sure if there was some inflating going on, or if 2003 was a particularly poor year for airline profitability (it was the year they were shutting down the Concorde - that's why I was there).

I guess Tory will be one of the speakers tonight at the Pan Am opening. Just imagine if it was RoFo, he would take credit for everything.

Given it was Rob's total ineptitude that stymied any development at Woodbine during the Ford Bros' ten-years-and-counting as Ward 2 councillors, it's really not funny that he's putting himself forward again as the big ideas man. Rob and Doug scared off the original developers to (IIRC) Pickering Live!

Oh, and is that Stephen Harper in a tracksuit at PanAm? Maybe he and Rob are going for a jog this morning.

If that's true (and I'm not suggesting it's not), then a big honking Ferris wheel is what Toronto needs to help finance its transit upgrades. Call it respect for taxpayers, if you must.

Wasn't there a big wheel at Sunnyside many years ago?

Donald Trump is basically a richer Rob Ford, less the substance abuse problems. He knows how to use the media to his advantage, even for the smallest of issues. It is no wonder that Rob "endorsed" him!

Now, the media here has made some baby steps in the right direction. They slobber all over him during council and he is pretty much ignored aside from that. With the break until September 30, maybe things will be quiet on that front.

If Neil Flagg were frozen music...

Google them, and you'll know what I mean. *Totally* Neil Flagg.

This music should be playing non-stop at the Sports Poster Warehouse.
