I was amused to discover that the zippy tune at the beginning of the Ford/Black interview is called, "Overture To La Gazza Ladra (The Thieving Magpie)".
Things went very badly for for Gottardo, the hard-to-like 'Mayor' character from the similarly titled opera. See for yourself in this wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_gazza_ladra

HUGE, huge respect to the editor who slipped this song into that ridiculous thing called an interview.

I do have to give Black props for two points he made at the beginning of his interview...he thanked Ford for "entertaining us", which I thought for a man who chooses his words well, kinda strange. But whenever Ford speaks, it is entertaining, and he will usually put his foot in his mouth (or shoot it off) even when he's in a "friendly" environment, such as he was with Black.

He also acknowledged how "splendid" and world famous our City Hall is. Black has serious faults...good taste for aesthetics is not one of them.

Nice one! It may have been this guy, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ba_rtvOCcAEeW7a.jpg:large, that did that.

I'm not sure the colour of his teeth is related to crack or to smoking anything - probably just general neglect and maybe diet. Smoking tends to make teeth browner and in a more localized way, where his teeth seem more uniformly yellow. And with strangely regular gaps between them - I wonder if Ford Sr's largesse didn't extend to orthodontist visits.

Smoking cigarettes makes teeth browner. Crack makes them yellow.

Ooooh, excellent catch!

When I was a kid growing up in Scarborough there were a few outdoor rinks, I guess they closed after the indoor rinks became popular because of the weather factor. Unfortunately, it always comes down to cost, and I find it amusing that Ford keeps coming up with these ideas, but will freak at the cost of maintaining an outdoor rink.

The outdoor rinks - Agincourt, Clairlea, Heron Park, McGregor - were converted to indoor rinks in the 60's or 70's.

I thought everyone knew that from A Clockwork Orange and I clued in immediately, wondering if it was a joke. (I didn't know the opera's narrative, however...)

The Star's David Rider just tweeted that despite Doug Ford's contention that Rob did not intend to call Dale a pedophile, Rider has personally heard Doug make the same suggestion.
