One thing from yesterday's debate, esp. given the taste-and-Chinese-urn stuff that we've been discussing...

8:57 PM: Galloway asks each candidate to name one secret place in Toronto they love, a place they’d take a visitor to. Ford says he discovered his this past week—a Hindu temple in Rexdale with “amazing architecture.” He does not cite its name. Tory: Riverdale Farm. Chow: Toronto Island.

I presume it's the BAPS temple of which he speaks, which'd probably appeal to his "Ed's Warehouse" artistic sensibility in spite of itself. (But he only discovered it *now*?!?)

He was camping and stumbled across it in the wilderness of Rexdale. Probably needed his SUV to reach the area.

He either doesn't get it, or doesn't want to, just like FN followers. They're either too stupid to understand they're being used by the Fords or they're assholes (like my neighbour) who don't care and want to stick it to people who follow the rules. Wow, what a way to go through life. Sad little people.

The thing that always makes me shake my head about the Fords is how small-time, low-rent, sloppy and lazy they are. Ford clearly doesn't give a shit about election rules or breaking the law yet this is the best he can think to do? Show up at ONE polling station and talk to voters in the lobby? So he's reaching what, maybe 10-20 people in an hour of doing that? If you're going to grift anyway, idiot, maybe grift a bit bigger?

It's all about getting the optics right - dude with cancer (!) showing up at Driftwood (!!) to canvass - other elites don't do that.

I just see this as Rob being an attention whore. His family pushes him around, his bros bully him, his wife & kids are fed up with him, his friends have bailed. Nobody loves Rob except the common folk who for some incomprehensible reason line up to take a photo with this sad dying incompetent wreck.

I suppose that might have been the idea (if he tipped off the press---he'd never admit how much he needs them), and it may have thrilled a few voters there, but I imagine it looked pretty sad and desperate to a lot more voters elsewhere in the city. A man with cancer just hanging out alone in a parking lot; far from home, where he could be resting and spending time with his family; far from the ward where he's "trying" to get elected councillor... I guess looking pathetic is a sympathy play too.

Every time I get an inkling of sympathy for that oaf, his arrogant idiocy yanks me back to "go away". What a legacy.

Daniel Dale:
Chow says there's "absolutely not" anything that could happen to convince her to informally withdraw from the race.

"So if Doug Ford wins, we can all thank @oliviachow's vote-splitting stubbornness."

How does one look at his/her previous posts or those of other users on this forum? It seems very incomplete when I use the obvious search functions. There also seems to me no option to view all previous posts of a given user, including oneself, in chronological order. Am I missing something?
