If Rob insists on delegating the city's official representative, I believe Randy would be the best speaker of the family. But, he has no official status ( yet ). Hopefully not Mikey after hearing him speak post election. And besides that, he's only a trustee.

But, I thought it would have to be Doug because he is a councillor?

I agree with you on Mikey Mouse, but not that he is only a trustee, at least he is an elected official, and the only other Ford to that claim. Randy has the official title of designated asshole, and has no business being there tomorrow unless of course he is the escort for a bubble head doll and give out fridge magnets.

The only choice IMO is Kelly and Tory.

^ I agree. Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly is the unsung hero of this crisis.

Remembering the 35th anniversary of the Mississauga evacuation, and that the train was headed into Central Toronto on the CP main line, I'm thankful that Rob was relieved of duty.

It ran off the track, 11-79
While the immigrants slept, there wasn't much time
The mayor came calling and got 'em outta bed
They packed up their families and headed upwind
A poison cloud, a flaming sky, 200,000 people and no one died
And all before the pocket dial, yeah!

Not only was Norm Kelly a great leader for the past year, but he is great on Twitter!

Why Ceta Ramkhalawansingh? This makes no sense to me. Temporary departing member of council who really had no impact on any city related business. Is that Ford just being an a$$ again?

Actually, taking into account her pre-Council role as well-placed municipal bureaucrat (and community activist), it might be argued that Ceta *has* had a positive impact on "city related business"...to the point where her appointment as Vaughan's temporary replacement practically justified itself.

OTOH, if RoFo had a bit more Nathan Phillips to him, he'd have called her "Ceta Ramalamadingdong" (a la ol' Nate's referring to the then-Soviet ambassador as "Rootin' Tootin'")

FYI re Rob's whereabouts, (well, at least where he won't be).

Mayor Rob Ford's office confirms Ford will now not be attending tomorrow's Remembrance Day ceremony #TOpoli

Awesome. It's like Rob Ford's health is stepping up to do what his sense of shame should have been doing all along.

Maybe Ford thought Ceta R. is the councillor for the ward in which the ceremony is taking place. (She's not.)

He probably now knows that she isn't, but found Kristyn Wong-Tam, who is the ward councillor, too unpalatable to replace him.

I don't try to figure out what make Rob tick. But, especially now that he is returning to Ward 2, getting along with "the former head of diversity and community engagement for the city" may not be such a bad thing.

I think it's Rob Ford being well, Rob Ford. Giving the finger to each and every councillor who didn't support him and literally turned their backs on him, condemning him for his unseemly behaviour. What a toxic individual.

Many of the lower-paid, more menial jobs start early, which means an even earlier departure from the outer suburbs. Free TTC would help many of those disadvantaged folks. Some cities have tried it - free if you arrive at your destination before 7am - and it's worked so well, their local critics called these free early subways "gravy trains. "

Hahaha... Yeah, like the bond and equity desks, in place for the 7am call...

Retail isn't open until later. Timmy's, etc., though. And the lawyers sleep at their desks, no?
