Two men charged with murder.

Jahwayne Smart, 25
Rashawn Chambers, 24

Perhaps the first is portrayed here http://hooptowngta.com/photoGalleryMisc2.php

The latter is already connected to gang violence https://www.worldwideentertainmentt...onto-rapper-smoke-dawg-arrested-for-shooting/

Always the stupid thugs killing the innocent people. :(

Thankfully this past year has been better for shootings, and seemingly only a few innocent victims unknown to police.

Toronto Star review - https://outline.com/SB3WeT

“38 people fatally shot — the lowest number within the last five years, and well below the 51 gun homicides in 2018.“

Agreed. Over one hundred rounds fired and one dead yesterday, but thankfully no apparent innocents this time.

Where do these guys learn to shoot? One hundred rounds and everyone but one lives?

I doubt much mandatory training is involved.. I would guess their style comes from video games and TV. Unless there were multiple shooters involved (and the accounting is near accurate - which it may not be), at least somebody knows how to do tactical reloading.

True, but other organized criminals seek accuracy and discretion.

Here‘s a lawyer advertising to the gang bangers.

See the map. It’s interesting that the neighbourhoods with the highest shootings are all on the outside of the city. When I first moved downtown in 1998 my area was one of the highest.

Ya, 'traditional organizer crime' (mafia, etc.) tend to be a little more surgical. I suspect that, the wider you want your message to go out, the broader the violence, including the image of violence, has to be; or they're just thugs at the top of their game and that's what they know.

Yep, same skill set at play tonight.

We now have 2 arrests in this case, which is an encouraging start.

As I understand it, there were further shooters.

So hopefully more arrests incoming.

Interesting read, a challenge indeed when overall shootings are down but shoot-related murders up.

Multiple Toronto schools were in lockdown after a person was shot near an elementary school in Scarborough’s Port Union area on Thursday afternoon, first responders and an eyewitness said.

Police were called to Maberley Crescent and Oxhorn Road for reports of a person carrying a rifle on the street around 1 p.m.

Paramedics tell CP24 they were called to the corner of Lawrence Avenue East and Port Union Road at 1:24 p.m. for a reported shooting.
