Don't assume anything. Everything is laid out precisely in my post. The 3 sets I have seen have 22xx and 23xx with different numbers at each end as noted above. I assume loco's were switch.

I had to assumed when I see different numbers for each end on 3 sets. May 02 with no shots of the 3rd oneDon't assume anything. Everything is laid out precisely in my post.

As @smallspy said, there is no need to assume anything, because he already explained to you why the unit numbers of the locomotives of the first ten Siemens setsdon‘t match the cars in the trainsets (because the first set was sent with a spare locomotive, whereas the tenth set was sent without a locomotive):I had to assumed when I see different numbers for each end on 3 sets. Set 1 VIA Rail 2207/2306 Siemens SCV-42 Trainset
Set 2 VIA Rail 2208/2307 Siemens SCV-42 Trainset
The first trainset (2x00) was delivered with an extra loco - 2201. Eventually the locos were swapped for whatever testing was necessary, and that trainset remains configured like that today (2201 with 2300).
All of the subsequent trainsets up to 2x08 thus were delivered with a loco numbered one higher than the trainset (2202 with 2301, 2203 with 2302, etc.)
Then trainset 2x09 was delivered without a loco. This was to allow them to finally put a train onto that one spare loco. (The assumption is that the numbers will be shuffled to allow the trainsets to all match numerically, but I've also not gotten confirmation of that.)
And since then, matched trainsets have been delivered. The 16th trainset was delivered last week, and the 17th has been booked to be picked up from Siemens in Sacramento at the end of May.

Until Dan posting, I have to assumed based on what I was seeing as noted in my photos. It will be interesting to see what things look like in a moth time. I was expecting same numbers for both ends when I visited TMC, not what I was seeing and why I asked the question. Otherwise, nice to see up to date equipment being added to the system and reduced the need for duel end power or having to y the train. As @smallspy said, there is no need to assume anything, because he already explained to you why the unit numbers of the locomotives of the first ten Siemens setsdon‘t match the cars in the trainsets (because the first set was sent with a spare locomotive, whereas the tenth set was sent without a locomotive):
Could that be the one for the ONR?It seems that a VIA Venture coach being finalized in Sacramento has a unique paint scheme (yellow on top and bottom). Any reason why this one has a different livery? Source.

It says VIA Rail all over the coach, so no.Could that be the one for the ONR?
Via will be doing the maintenance. That livery looks like what the Northlander is supposed to look like.It says VIA Rail all over the coach, so no.
Maybe a mistake and they're lining it up for a repaint of the lower panels? Or it could be a special one off?Via will be doing the maintenance. That livery looks like what the Northlander is supposed to look like.
Or that Via decal was installed in error.Maybe a mistake and they're lining it up for a repaint of the lower panels? Or it could be a special one off?
I would assume that the paint is applied in layers, with brighter colours (yellow/red) applied before lighter ones (white/gray)…Maybe a mistake and they're lining it up for a repaint of the lower panels? Or it could be a special one off?
There is zero chance these are Northlander sets. ONTC’s sets only started construction this May, and I promise you they didn’t finish a Venture coach in 12 days. This coach is confirmed VIA.Or that Via decal was installed in error.
Unless someone has a concrete reason, we won't know till it gets here.
That’s not just a decal, half of the A in the VIA logo is on the side of that coachOr that Via decal was installed in error.

If that is the case, then I don't know why this one looks the way it did. It is oddly painted. There is zero chance these are Northlander sets. ONTC’s sets only started construction this May, and I promise you they didn’t finish a Venture coach in 12 days. This coach is confirmed VIA.
The chatter on some other sites is of a “special livery” VIA set, with this being it. It will be set number 18, and set 17 is about to ship. So I guess we will find out soon what the whole train looks like.If that is the case, then I don't know why this one looks the way it did. It is oddly painted.
