Updated 14-day forecast has up to 70 mm of rain between the 8th and 10th. Holy cow. Doubt it’ll happen, but who knows. That’s flood levels of rainfall. Especially if our ground remains saturated.

I read an article where the writer interviewed some Alberta farmers. While they welcomed the wet snow in recent weeks, they said it is not nearly enough moisture for the soil. The heat from last summer and a fairly dry fall was devastating for future growing conditions. We need that rain on the prairie. What we don't want to see is heavy rain in the mountains on top of the snow pack..... shades of 2013! 😬

Update of my pic 4 days ago… multiple other species starting to green too. Lilacs fixing to burst everywhere! 😁

Some forecast models have us hitting friggin 30 on Thursday! Regardless, two days in the high 20s first week of May is remarkable. Crazier though is that our April average high will be about a degree lower than March.

45 days at/above 10°, 9 days at/above 15°, and 1 day above 20° in the first 4 months of the year. Not too shabby.

Dead centre in the eye of Hurricane Calgary again! 🤣
