I love these types of developments. They fit the neighborhood perfectly. I wish we had 100 more of these throughout our inner city.

I actually don't mind the Met. It seems kind of different from the other developments we've seen in Calgary. It has a kind of European feel...but a like commie block/euro suburb feel. At least there is a decent stretch of ground floor retail on the Met, but...to each their own! ?

Great comments from everybody above. I'll throw my two cents in. I'm probably in the minority, but I'd prefer the building to be smaller. Maybe 10-15 stories would suffice. I'd like to see a better podium on the building with a focus on the main floor retail. As it stands now, it's not a bad...

I think you're absolutely right in the sense that the area has shitty urban design. Two 'freeways', a casino, few street retail options and low pedestrian traffic. But let's be honest. The clientele the Alpha House attracts doesn't do any favours for the area. No two homeless shelters are alike.

Looks pretty slick! Not too bad for a band that has roughly 2000 people. That ring road money is getting put to good use.

It's a great location. It's right beside the pedestrian bridge to downtown, 2 minutes to a C-train and Safeway and you have 10st street next door.
