Edmonton Downtown Streetfront Retail Report 2023:

As part of the Retail Attraction Program and provincial grant to the EDBA, 3 of 6 new permanent businesses announced today:

- The Growlery Beer (Brewery and Taproom. Second location) https://www.growlerybeer.com/
- Consign Design (Furniture and accessories) https://consigndesign.ca/
- Good Goods (Lifestyle) https://www.goodgoodsco.ca/

Locations weren't announced today but I think folks will be pleased with the location of The Growlery.
Good Goods looks to be taking one of the new spaces demised in the former Metro Billiards (Creamery Building)

is increasing the capacity of a bar like the Ice house and banquet common? what could be changing inside?

McDougall Hill.
Downtown hates their Rossdale neighbors. 😞

I was walking around the Financial Core with a friend earlier this evening and was wondering if there's any plans downtown to add more lighting? It genuinely didn't feel too sketchy this evening and I really do think that more lighting/lighting fixtures would help a lot in making it "safer"

I'm told that the McDougall Hill stairway has been closed due to safety concerns that were identified by the Chateau Lacombe.

Did they specify what sort of safety concerns?

A few of the major buildings still have exterior lighting upgrades in the works as well as some further decorative lighting to some of the pedways.

But I agree, much of our core is much too dark. Pre-pandemic the concern from the City was light pollution and some developments not allowed to do all the lighting they planned. Pedestrian areas could be much better lit.
