2 for 2 in matinees, I'll take it!

The Oilers beat Washington 5-0 in their barn on Nov. 24 in a matinee game and wasn't the Heritage Classic against the Flames another afternoon game?

Are we 4-0 in matinees this year? This season has been surreal in so many ways.

Who would have thought 2-9-1 to start year, coach being fired and then the 2nd longest win streak in NHL history.
And a winning record in matinees. And McDavid maybe not in the MVP race this year with the seasons a few other players are having.

I wouldn't count him out just yet, not from the Art Ross nor the Hart. He, just like this team, has the tendency of having stronger back halves of the seasons.
Two weeks ago, he was 20 points behind both MacKinnon and Kucherov. Now he's 8 behind one and 11 behind the other. They're both having a slower second half of the season than he has, and with how much he's improved his defensive game this season, I would be shocked if he's considered to be out of the race any time soon.

Was referring to our back to backs, but yes, we have done well throughout the year in games that normally are a struggle for us.

The basics of good hockey, let alone almost March hockey, seems to be lost on this team. A lot of individual efforts, but not much team and an absolute ton of D-zone turnovers leading to Skinner being held out to dry a few again.

Is #25 disinterested these days? He seems neither mean, not quick, nor sharp.

#29 gets the stupidest selfish penalty at the most inopportune time award.

Loved to see #13 stepping up, same with #90 again.

Calgary doing a good job getting us off of whatever our game is at the moment.

Yup we need another goalie
Skinner did have his share of responsibility on the last two losses, but in all honesty, he's been hung out to dry by the team, facing too many grade A shots and ZERO rebound control around the crease.

I still believe he's enough of a good goalie to drive a deep playoff run of the team goes back to playing like an actual team.

A 1B experienced goalie would help, but we have positions in more need, such as a 2nd pairing right shot and a middle 6 right shot forward.

Let's be very clear here, it ain't Skinner.

Sure he should have had 1 of those first 4, but last night he had almost no support, faced multiple turnovers which led to breakaways or odd man situations.

Our forwards were generally soft on the puck in south of the hashmarks and simply didn't finish when they had the chance, unlike Calgary.
