Do we have any data on income by neighbourhood (specifically East Village) that is more recent than 2005? As well as numbers on how many people are low income, how much the median household for all of Calgary is, and how much of the EV is used for renting/owning, etc?
Don't know about specific neighborhoods. Statscan is going to start the release of their 2016 census data in February. Their may be something in there.

Any guesses on which construction site this was?

On the reclad topic, noticed scaffolding up along the entire exterior of Westview Heights. Think it's been up for sometime but any idea what the plan is there ? I hope they don't change the green because it's so popular, particularly among forumers on here

It's literally the ugliest building over 100 meters in the country. I hope that whatever they do, the green goes.

Nice work UW!

Thanks! It takes a lot longer than you think to do that much damn work on Wikipedia when the stuff is properly sourced :p

Did anyone else know that the revitalized St. Louis Hotel building is now the headquarters of CMLC? And also that they're not even going to start looking for retail tenants until the neighbourhood has reached a sufficient population? That's kind of disappointing.

Anyone else notice that Bow Valley Square is planning on doing an exterior-reclad? Saw the signs yesterday.
It's mostly what I would call lipstick on a pig. In my opinion, it will look better in the end but not vastly different from what it is today.

Btw, Nice scaffolding pic that you posted of the City Hall. Very cool.

I had no idea that the Rocky Ridge Reacreation Facility even a thing until I got lost looking for a Home Depot (that may not exist), when I stumbled upon this golden doughnut.

I few days earlier I was walking up centre street an snapped a few other picks of potential interest (and amature quality :p). I like the shot of the ice on the Bow the best, but I think the one showing Parkside (corrected) decidedly above grade might be the most taken to around here.

I'll give them reasonable odds of doing a good job of the exterior reclad. They did really great work with the lobby rennovation a few years ago. After the Core it's probably the next most significant hub on the plus 15 system and once Brookfield fills in the blanks there will be even more flow through. BVS, for it's faults, is still a fairly important building in the grand scheme of downtown. Too bad they'll never be able to do anything about those ugly towers. :/
