There was a small crew working underneath the pedway between Stantec and the JW yesterday at lunch. I actually think they were taking the scaffolding apart. Could it be that both the Big Pit and this visually obtrusive mess are gone?

Not sure what they're doing. The other day I thought I saw them installing lighting, but maybe it was the opposite.

Looks to be some changes to the 'Fan Park' where the snow maze is currently - adding three more outdoor rinks to replace the snow maze.

To operate a temporary Special Events Use from February 6, 2023 to March 13, 2023 on the existing paved space on a portion of the Site, adding temporary structures including: four ice rinks (each rink at 15.2 m x 30.4 m); picnic tables, midway games and fireplaces within 27.4 m by 25.9 m area; food and beverage (6.0 m x 3.0 m); box office; temporary washrooms; including back of house area including production trailer (12.1 m long) and generators to remain (Reference: Development Permit numbers 438169429-002 and 457744269-002). We are owed both an all star game and a draft following the completion of the ice district. I do wonder if hosting the heritage classic next year pushed our chances of holding either event next year.
