Someone tweeted that possibility to Don Peat.

Can someone elaborate on Doug Ford's comment about no longer having faith in City Hall security? I saw a tweet from Peat but there was no context or background.

Would having private security even be allowed at CH? It ties in with the pics posted by the private security guy...

Sure he has the right to remain silent - and we have the right to come to conclusions regarding his exercise of this right in relation to the questions he was asked.

AoD

Wikipedia excerpts:

The right to silence is protected under section 7 and section 11(c) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The accused may not be compelled as a witness against himself in criminal proceedings, and therefore only voluntary statements made to police are admissible as evidence. Prior to an accused being informed of their right to legal counsel, any statements they make to police are considered involuntarily compelled and are inadmissible as evidence. After being informed of the right to counsel, the accused may choose to voluntarily answer questions and those statements would be admissible.

Basically he has admitted quilt.

It is important to note that most rights in Canada can be limited by s. 1 of the Charter, which permits rights to be reduced if they interfere with substantial government interests, or by s. 24 of the Charter...

From <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_silence>

And since he is mayor certain rights can be lessened since his admission of consuming at City Hall can be construed to effect the operation of the municipal government.

Semantics? ~90% of the law is semantics.

Pro tip: A 30oz beer mug easily holds a 750ml bottle of Russian Prince with lots of room left for ice!

Why is an alcoholic drinking anything from a beer mug? That's like a pedophile reading The New Yorker that's been tucked inside the latest issue of Seventeen.
Let me say that more than once I have seriously considered the plausibility of a breathalyzer interlock fitted to the city council voting buttons.

Of course, the likely trend would be "Mayon Ford abstains in protest."

More Waterfront Toronto posturing... maybe Rob can tell us all the cheapest way to buy a rock.

"You're looking at a million dollars for 36 umbrellas and a rock, two rocks, two big rocks" Mayor Rob Ford.

DMW moved a motion asking Waterfront Toronto to adopt a Freedom of Information policy. Don Peat tweeted that. WT replied with a link to their policy :)

And Doug asked Cynthia Mulligan if she was finished with her "jihadist" attack.

And now Councillor Thompson is going after Ford, telling him that just saying "gravy train" is not leadership :) And Norm Kelly says "spot on".
