Argh! Just heard on CP2Ford Doug essentially accused Kristin Wong-Tam of "dirty politics" ( ie faking the letter). Ridiculous station passed this off as Ford "not condoning" homophobia !

Having been on chemo myself, he also needs to be aware that if he does get an infection, as well as it being potentially dangerous, it also pushes back the chemo schedule. Not a smart idea when his cancer is apparently quite advanced

This is really good news for the race. Perhaps this extra 4% (likely going to Tory) will be whats needed to convince Ford to give up. Even if he doesn't drop out, with his numbers tanking, hopefully Toronto can vote for who they truly think is the best candidate, and not feel hamstrung into...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

My theory is that Rob doesn't want to do this (disappearing from the public on the premise of being in rehab), but his hands are tied, (most of the time). He escaped on Tuesday morning. Don't understand his thinking really, but the public appearance hints at him not being on board with the...

Thank God! I have been in a bit of a panic since last weeks OPP announcement, thinking this would bolster Ford support, and I haven't seen any recent polls. I could relax if I could believe there isn't a chance Ford will be re-elected.

Exactly. And the Fords forced his hand into a move that appears to get them off the hook. Very fishy, and unlikely to be a surprise move for Blair.

No, I trust Blair, and the TPS. What worries me is his handing this over to the OPP. Did he not know it would play out like this? Or more likely, he suspected this, but his hands were tied.

What I don't understand is why Blair took the risk, unless he was forced into this by the Fords, which screams of corruption/manipulation. Hard to understand this any other way.

Is there any use complaining to the OPP?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

this is great news, if true. Means there is pressure from TPS and the AG to mount the arrest!

I don't think so, Dubster tends towards pessimism. My guess is that it will just take a bit longer with the new commissioner just coming on board this week. Probably smaller issues that will need to be ironed out. I hope, soon!

I thought Jimmi Ts theory was based on a supposed link to the Nguyen case, and since nothing materialized we are left again, with ...nothing. So. Discouraged.

    What about the helicopters?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

So any other clues that Rob has been in conversation with TPS or OPP?

Is there any chance he has negotiated to go to council this afternoon, then turn himself in? (I have no idea how these things work)

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I wonder if they might be waiting for the new OPP commissioner to take the helm (Vince Hawkes was welcomed today)

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I second this. We had his "imminent" arrest hopes dashed, but I'm still clinging to hope this may happen "early this week"...is this still a reasonable hope?
